Error in pattern file autocad 2009

Full vanilla autocad When I use the hatch command i get the message 'error in reading the pattern file'. When I click ok i can then use all the hatch patterns. I have tried to delete them one by one but it occurs for them all. I use the same hatch patterns and overwrite file method in civil 3d and it works fine civil 3d is built on top of full vanilla autocad.

It turns out that the error is caused because my custom hatch file does not contain this pattern;. If I paste this into my custom hatch pattern file, I no longer receive the error and it all works as it should apart from this hatch pattern appears under the ANSI tab of hatch.
